Advice needed before I catch pneumonia.
Most of my adult life I lived in the paradise-on-Earth known as Los Angeles. Lovely summer dresses and pretty shoes could be worn 51.5 weeks out of the year. With a relatively recent move to San Francisco I have found myself in the land of perpetual winter (by LA measure, that is) -- foggy, windy, mind-numbingly cold 50.5 weeks out of the year. Yes, Mark Twain was right when he quipped: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Except with global warming + my darn luck SF seems to be stuck in a perpetual miserable summer.
I do own pretty much every "winter" style PUG has but of course many, many more of the summer-only, sleeveless/short sleeve variety.
So what, besides the obvious cardigan over your dress, have you ladies come up with as your winter PUG looks? I am particularly curious about boots, stockings, headwear. And, yes, shapes of sweaters, styles of outerwear, etc. too. I'd love if you could post pictures to share your ideas.

Hi !
I think "warming" underwear type tank tops or teeshirts (like Uniqlo heattech for exemple) are nice during winter time as they are usually thin enough to be worn under dresses or tops.
I think it's better if they don't show up on the cleavage but sometimes that can be quite cute with a contrasting color.
Tops with long sleeves (obviously !), cute cardigans, twin sets, Velvet dresses... cigarette pants if you like them (I don't personnaly but to each their own), pencil skirts with pantyhose... cute victorian style boots.
Faux leopard fur coat is a great way to be warm in style when you get out too if you see yourself wearing a bold leopard print on a daily basis :).
In my opinion the best way is to layer up : warm tank+long sleeved top+cardigan+jacket/coat
Gloves are so classy and PUG has a great selection ! I love the buttonned ones :)
For headwear I personnaly looove berrets but maybe that's because I'm french :D haha
A silk scarf to cover your neck is very pretty too because it's light but silk keeps you very warm too :) a faux fur stole/scarf looks very glamourous or a night out.
Well it was not much but I hope it helps you a little !
Kisses !

I really had to lol at this- I'm in Canada, Winnipeg (8 hours NORTH of Minneapolis, and 8 hours north of me? there are polar bears and narwhals. seriously) our winters get to -45. with this in mind, I've found it not too easy to winterize pug items for a Canadian winter- I usually wear silk long underwear and then a pair of leggings or tights and boots.
for a Northern California winter (I'm from Santa Monica California so I get and understand california cold, versus anywhere else) I would stick with simple coats: try Asos (UK shop), Dorothy Perkins (also UK but both ship the US) and wear a thicker cotton tight (sockdreams an online store based in Oregon sells these). Alternately, pea coats, and car coats from the Gap/Banana republic are nice. I'd also invest in cardigans- the trick/key to keeping warm is layers. I personally live in Pencil skirts, the above mentioned silk long underwear, leggings, socks and boots, turtle necks, cardigans from November-April which is how long winter lasts here.
