Amazingly, (and a little bit of a drive - maybe an hour - east of LA) is Pomona - they actually have a street of antique shops, including vintage clothing. Old town Covina is also a street with some - not a whole lot - of vintage/antique stores. Pasadena (again, Old Town, which you can access on the MetroLight Rail from downtown LA's Union Station train/bus depot (another aside: that place is beautiful!) by getting off on Memorial Station and walking to) has the antiques, but more of the modern stores, like Tiffany's (*sigh*), H&M, etc. I would recommend driving out to Pomona or Covina, but that's me. As for in downtown, I'm sure there are places near Olvera Street and in Chinatown that may have antiques and vintage-y/PUG-y items, but I don't know them very well.
