New Vintage Bikini Colour/Pattern Ideas
Hey guys! It's me Tahitia again and I was wondering if you could all help me with some colour scheme/pattern ideas for a little project of mine.
I'm going to be in a burlesque show one month from tomorrow, and the routine is basically going to revolve around a vintage two piece bathing suit from form roughly the 1950's/60's that a friend of mine will be helping make.
The style's going to be strapless with underwire support, and ultra high waisted bottoms. What I need from you guys are ideas for the colour/pattern of the swimsuit itself. I love the polka dot look in the picture, but in case I can't find it I just wanted to have some back up ideas.
So what's a good retro bikini colour/pattern? Straight olive green? Pink with yellow polka dots? Some kind of tiki print? I'd love to hear any ideas that you all have. I'll tell you all about the burlesque show itself in my next blog post :)

Thanks for sharing Brandi and WOW I love those those polka dots! The second one is really cute too AND classy, I can totally see Betty wearing that on Mad Men.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to spill the beans on the theme of the routine. It's all based on the Gil Elvgren illustration Surprising Catch, which as you might of guessed I'm a HUGE fan of since I recreated it for a shoot over at deviantART and I made a variant of it the logo for the Great Lakes Pinup Group.
What can I say, I love cheesecake pinup art ;)
I really like the tropical flower idea too, maybe pink flowers on purple or even pink flowers on white, that DOES totally suit the theme.
Vertical slimming stripes could totally work too, especially if they're bright like white and red or blue and yellow.
