A fun part of the pinup girl style of coarse are the clothes, but also the hair! It’s definitely the cherry on top of the cake of pulling the whole look together. Though I had not seen my natural hair texture in vintage photos from the 1940s and 50s, I am still given ideas of what to create from the photos that I have seen. My hair is mid-length, but I have fun with hairpieces and wigs, to change the texture and length for creating different styles.

In your reply, I would like to see pictures of vintage hairstyles for every hair length: short, medium, and long. It can be close ups of you, your friends, or favorite photos of individuals rockin’ vintage hair styles. Try to group the same hair lengths together per reply. Thanks!

Ok I have a question for you lovely ladies. I'm still a beginner at trying to do my own pinup hair and the few times I've had photos taken is when someone else does a beautiful job on it. So here is my question: I have naturally thick curly hair, and everytime a stylist does my hair it's required that I come in with my hair straightened beforehand. Now I dislike using heat at all on my hair and always air dry it. So those of you who are curly haired, what do you do? Wet set? i.e. Pincurls? Foam Rollers? Socks/Towels?

I do hairstyles with my curly hair :) most times, if straight styles are required, I cornrow my hair and wear a wig. I just leave out the front and straighten it to blend in with my wig. It depends on how curly your texture is in order to determine the method you can use. Mine is extremely curly, and if I want a straight style, I have to use heat and then add curls. This takes forever, so my easy solution is what I mentioned in the beginning of this reply.

Have you tried using a heat serum prior to working on it?

Wow, all these styles are amazing! I especially love the second on down on the right. You have some skills x

Hi Angelique!  Here's a photo of me and my hubby at a family banquet...it's was our 3rd Anniversary too. This was the first time I tried the victory rolls...It took me a while to do. I've been praticing it, and little by little getting there.  For just my usual everyday style (I am a stay-at-home mom) I pull my hair up in a high pony and tie a fun print bandana (polka dots, leopard, zebra...) around my head, tie at top off to the side to create a little bow. I havent had straight across bangs since I was a little girl. And I love them! Since having fine hair, I think it adds so much more to these fab retro styles.
