Hey ladies!

I've noticed my eyesight is getting worse, I'm scheduling an appointment to have an eye exam but I'm pretty sure I'll need to wear glasses most of the time (I cant stand things in my eye so contacts aren't an option). I pretty much do this 'pinup' thing 24x7 these days, so I'd really like to find some vintage style frames that I can have my prescription put in to, the stores simply don't offer anything stylish enough! I envision something 40s\50s style with a little bit of a flair up and thick enough to hold a decent lens; I have feeling I'll need to wear them to drive, so a compact frame style frame wont work. Do any of you have any online resources for repro frames for prescription glasses? I see a few shops but I'd love some suggestions to help with my hunt.

Mine are actual vintage glasses that I bought off Etsy an I love them! Some recommendations I have are BonLook, Warby Parker and Ray Ban makes an AWESOME pair of cateyes that Amazon offers for $100 (they also have some others.)  Hope this offers you a good place to start!

I've got the same problem with vintage clothing! It's all so tiny! But ebay is fantastic for great vintage clothes in various sizes, and I've actually had pretty decent luck at my local goodwill. I've found most thrift stores/etsy shops that specialize in vintage clothing usually only carry small sizes =(

They are to die for!

Thank you for starting this thread! I have been searching for new glasses myself for sometime now :) I also found http://rivetandsway.com if yor are looking for something more conservative & modern with a vintage flair!

My friends get their non-vintage glasses from Zenni optical and they're super reasonably priced :) Or I know a shop on ebay that has tons of vintage glasses from all eras for super awesome prices. I'll dig the name of that out when my internet is working better.

They are very pricey but the french brand lafont makes lovely re-imagined vintage frames! I have a pair called esther in an olive green color and I love them. They're very sturdy. The front of the frames are titanium (arms are plastic). They also have a frame called the gilda thats amazing too and they're usually available in quite a few colors. I tried going for an actual vintage frame but none of them fit my giant head/face and I looked terrible in them so this was a good alternative.

Ive found several pairs of vintage inspired frames at zennioptical.com for quite affordable! I have also heard of getting frames from etsy/ebay and then having lenses cut to fit them. good luck on your spectacle endeavors!
