I don't know how to start this discussion honestly. I'm always curious when I look through all your photos and read your bios. No one really talks about what they do for a living. I guess I wonder this because I work such an obscure job that I always imagine all the PUG enthusiasts are well known celebrities, or powerful business women because you are all so beautiful.
I work in the offshore oilfield, 6 months a year I'm offshore on a barge or a boat and usually there aren't many girls. I wear steel toe boots, a hardhat, and pants. I never wear makeup and my hair is always in a ponytail. The other 6 months out of my year, I'm usually in a dress with full makeup and my hair done.
So I guess what I'm asking is what do you guys do for a living?

I am a Massage Therapist in CNY (unfortunately, and unglamorously, it isn't in NY City). It is a fun job though! :)
Man, I miss CNY - especially Ithaca. I went to Wells, my husband went to Cornell and I worked several summers at a Girl Scout camp north of Syracuse.
I work part time as a night audit at a small hotel and as a tour guide at a new deer park near G.R. MI. I have to wear uniforms and so am not allowed to rock my PUG style. I get odd looks in our small town when I go out and about in PUG style.
I'm originally from G.R. and I had to laugh when you say you get odd looks! When I lived there I called it "Bland Rapids". I have to say though, I know several people in G.R. who would rock PUG clothing and are into that look - Jennifer at The Amulet Piercing is one I can think of off the top of my head.
Right well I have been out of work since June and have now finally got a job!! I work as an administrator for a glass company called Pilkingtons. Its my second day today and now finished for the weekend. My first full week is next week. So far the people seem friendly. Good hours working 8.30-5.00. I can get to work in 15 minutes and its close to my mum and nans house so i have somewhere to go on my lunch break. Lots of shops etc near by. Cant complain so far so good! Well money could be better but thats the case for alot of people and with how tough the market is I'm lucky to have a job at all! One day I'd love a bakery to sell my cupcakes and fulfill my life long dream of becoming a model....I can dream!
I am just your average Gal Friday in a law firm. I'm supposed to be a paralegal, but I'm also the receptionist, file clerk, and runner. Whatever is needed I do without hesitation and that includes making sure that the coffee is bottomless.
I'm currently studying for a degree in Criminal Justice although that seems so cliche. I have a degree in History and wanted to go back to add to my background in the legal field. I graduated from a high school which specializes in criminal justice and law enforcement.
My career goal is to become a latent print examiner...
Hey Lala (and other forensic minded gals):
I started a group called the five-o in the hopes that I could get my brain back in gear for school (I start again in Fall 2013, and I've been out of school since '06!)... I was hoping that we could all chat about current and past criminal cases - actually post links to articles or info and come to group decisions about the case - you know, not full on debate (maybe?), but discuss, digest, tear apart, and interact. I'd love for you to join... I posted the Natalie Wood case as the first case to chat about...
Let me know if you're interested... and welcome to the forensics group of gals here @ PUG!!
Jenn
I currently have a retail supervisor position at the oh-so-fabulous VS doing everything from cosmetic/fragrance sales to visual merchandising though I'm currently seeking a corporate visual merch position in the Big Apple. At work, I tend to dress pretty conservatively; one of my old managers (no longer with the company) used to always tear down the way I wore my make-up (cat-eyes and color were a no-no) among other things, so I'm just starting to play with color and wardrobe again.
I do freelance modeling on the side and just started doing pin-up a few months ago. I love doing pin-up make-up and would love to learn hair (victory rolls and such). I also collect vintage dresses and lingerie (bullet bras/bustier types mostly) and one day would love to either model and/or create my own line.
Wow, there are so many interesting and varied careers on here!
I am just your average administrator working in a contracts team for an International Construction/Engineering company in Australia :) I like what I do and will eventually become a Contracts Administrator but to do that I'll need to go back to school and get a degree - which quite honestly scares me.
Working in an office I can get away with wearing pug and other vintage inspired creations :)
I am a Store Director for Albertsons! Funny, when customers ask for the Manager and I show up..they stop and say "Yooouu are the Manager?" Uh yes Ma'am, did you expect a fat man with a dirty white shirt? How may I help you? The next is usually the test of my intelligance! It's sooo fun to see folks react to me!
