Firstly, PUG has many fab outfits so...
What do you do when you get an outfit stuck in your head, and you can't obtain it?
I know, ya'll know what I'm talking about. Your sitting there watching a classic film and BOOM there it is, the holy grail of all outfits and you want IT. Suddenly the film doesn't matter anymore, you have a new purpose in life, and that purpose is to own that article of clothing. Now if you are, miss I can make that, and can quickly fill the void... good for you. But for those of us not blessed with such skills, our quest is a long painful one.
We tread through the resale/vintage shops, and meticulously comb the internet in the hope of finding the thing which we covet most. Some I'm sure complete their quest, and can move on with their lives... they return to being happy and well adjusted.
But what if you don't find it? I have been carrying a torch for a certain outfit for around 6 years now. You must be asking yourself, "What is this wondrous garment?" So this is it.
From 1949, Almost A Bride, AKA, A Kiss For Corliss, was Shirley Temples final film and there she is, in the cutest outfit! I have hunted far and wide but nothing has come even close to resembling this dress. I am unfulfilled, so my search is continuous.
If you have been in this situation and have gotten out of it, what did you do?
Please post your story and (if you can) include a picture of the film you found it in.
And if you're in the same boat as me, still searching for that glorious item... you're not alone.
Would love to hear your story... please don't let me be the only one!

There is really only a couple of things you can do... Make it or hire someone to make it for you. This is a fairly simple underbust bodice attached to a A line skirt then throw a chemise style shirt under it. This would probably be done in a nice flowing cotton, faux buttons up the front and you could do a center back zipper or a hidden side zipper, or even lace it up the back.
Hey Jerrie... So I found the movie on youtube... and was able to see more of the dress... The dress is all one piece including the peasant shirt. And there are pockets along the princess seaming. The opening is down the front, but for ease of wearing a zipper can be put in the dress, probably in the back would be best... If you decide that you want to have this made, let me know I can do it, and it would be made to measure, so pretty much you would be the only one that could wear it, and it would be one of a kind!
I recently had a case of that! There's a scene in Swing Time in which Ginger Rogers is wearing a black dress with a white collar. I'd like a dress like that, but I have no idea where I'd find one.
