i guess being a gardener i have many plants i would call favorites but i would have to say i most enjoy growing  hydrangeas the most       they did go out of fashion for a long  wile but now are enjoying a return    also the trade has responded with lots of new and better varietys      in my last garden i grew 72 varietys     and woul love to share some pictures of them if you like    happy gardening  Cathy

Wow, thank you so much for your reply!  So you are a seasoned gardener?  I do so love hydrangeas, the blues and purples, but they look really hard to grow and maintain. I know I would kill them, I won't even try. I love the look of big bouquets of hydrangeas in the house. I have seen some that were perfectly preserved, and looked just cut, and would stay that way! I saw it on-line, so I don't know how it would look like in person.  I want to buy some soon if I could find a good place that sells them.  It boggles my mind that there are so many varieties! 72, my gosh!  Your garden must be huge! Yes, please share some photos.  I live in Southern CA, and we have had several heat waves.  Last few days it has been 102 to 104 here in La Habra.  I was so mad because last year it stayed hot even into January, with only a few cool days.  We were robbed of a fall and winter. Is this going to be the pattern from now on?  I am really worried, because I just hate the heat!  Have a good weekend!  Ruth
