Bop 'n Bowl - Toronto, ON. July 19th-21st. COME ON OUT!
I'm hitting this event with my spouse and my pops, we've booked a room at the Delta Chelsea and can't wait to have a grand old time. You should try to make it out too :) As excited as I am, I always get overwhelmed when it comes to these events. As soon as we decide we're going, my mind immediately fills up with all the crap I have to worry about, such as,
#1.... I can't dance. No, that isn't modesty, I really have no tricks up my sleeves. How many of you ladies can stroll? I've been trying to teach myself via YouTube videos (there isn't a single decent tutorial on there, what the hey?!) and it isn't going very well. Oddly enough I think it'd serve me well if one of you capable ladies wouldn't mind typing out the steps for me (left, left, right, turn, back, left, etc.). I'd be so very appreciative and would even buy you a cocktail/beer at the Bop n Bowl for your troubles :)
#2... I can also never decide, what to wear?! I'm coming from out of town so my plan is to pack as little as possible (I say that now....). If anybody else plans to go, maybe we should touch base so we don't end up wearing the same frock?

Hi Chrystal! I just created the event page for the Bop 'n Bowl right here for anyone who's interested in joining Chrystal and I for a very fun weekend:)
Okay now to answer your first question Chrystal, I just started Lindy Hopping back in January and there are going to be a few people from my Lindy class going to this as well. I'm not a pro by any stretch but I'd be really happy to share with you what I've learned so far.
For your second question I have absolutely NO idea what I'll be wearing, but I totally hear your problem about not wanting to end up wearing the same thing. I'm going to have to think about this one really hard and I'll let you know as soon as I've figured something out! -

I've got leopard planned for Friday night, white polka dots for Saturday and a custom Elvis skirt planned for Sunday. It just occurred to me I'm not planning to wear any PUG, but oh how that may change between now and then :)
