this little cutie used to be mine although I sold it before i moved to Europe. When I move back which will be sometime within the next few years I plan on getting a new car but for now I'm just an admirer :)

Hello all! I love classic retro cars..unfortunatelyi do not own one, i will eventually when my piggy bank is full! I was wondering...i am from pennsylvania and i would love to go to a car show in CA..what is the best annual car show i shoul plan to go to..i would love some feedback

Hi Ava. It's so subjective, really, but personally, I like a straight car show, without all the bells and whistles. Just pure, rad steel. :) Having said that, each year, I look forward to the Culver City car show, Crusin' Back to the 50's. http://culvercitycarshow.com/
It's in May each year and I've been attending for a few years. It's probably one of the best collections of cars (over 250 of them) and a wide variety of eras and genres, from rat rods to 70's-80's muscle cars. It's also free for spectators, inexpensive for entrants, and there is a pin-up contest, bands, food, and bitchen vendors. It's an excellent gathering of rockabillies and it's good for families. It's also safe--a huge plus (I've been in some dicey shows). And, downtown Culver City is very cool (The Culver Hotel is a historic landmark, and it's stunning).

The Pomona Fair Grounds has a huge car show and swap meet each year, but the crowd is a bit harder and it can be rough at night. I think it's in December this year. http://www.pomonaswapmeet.com/ It is, hands-down, one of the best spots to get hard-to-find parts for your ride.

Mooneyes also does an excellent car show each December: http://www.mooneyesusa.net/xmas2013/
They have a pretty organized pinup contest at this show also and they have drag racing--awesome!

But, the best of the best is the car show during Viva Las Vegas--April 2014. http://www.oldride.com/events/8415571.html Insanely sweet cars, but it's in Vegas.
