I finally bit the bullet and acquired a Courtesan Swing in the Gingham (from Deadly Dames). This is the dress you could wear anywhere and turn heads.
Benefits:
- Like a Padded bra inside, it lifts and supports
- Thick straps so that you can wear a bra underneath if required
- Shaped bodice, cinches in at the waist perfectly
- beautiful full skirt (hides a full tummy after lunch)
- gives you the hourglass (it accentuates mine)
- Draws attention to your ...assets
Downfalls (ever so slight)
- Try and not get your finger caught in the pink ribbon around the top of the dress whilst trying to zip (it can pull and then you will have to spend a few moments correcting it.
- the Belt supplied with the Large size was a tiny bit too large, I think Im going to punch another hole in it.
Over All Verdict:
This is a wardrobe staple, can be dressed up to glam in the night and dressed down to wow in the day time. Here is a picture of me in the dress, see stunning? Its not me its the dress.

Hahaha Im picturing a woman in the courtesan running like crazy down the main street hahaahah
I just ordered this today, great review! I have it in the Victorian Rose print already, in an XL - I wear an XL in the Heidi and Netti and Lily (GoLightly), so ordered an XL in the Courtesan too... it's VERY snug. I can get it on, but I'm certainly ready to take it off at the end of the day! I went for 2X on the gingham I just ordered today, and am looking forward to having a bit more room in the waist.
You look stunning!
Hi Erin
Thanks a lot, its seriously the dress and not me. I actually order a size up when it comes to Deadly Dames, I just like the looser fit better. The Courtesan is in the Large here and it still looks stunning even though I have plenty of room in the waist.
