You really got a hold on me, Zooey

It was the print that did me in first.

I never wear these colours, but those gorgeous birdies in their cages were irresistible.

Next I fell for the fitted black panel in the midsection, the perfect waist-enhancer next to a nice full skirt.

It arrived and I still think this is a cute, fun, flattering dress. The lined bodice was great, the skirt sat beautifully with a nice weight, the waist fit nice and tight but not uncomfortable.

But after a couple of wears, I have some notes.

1. The bust

I'm not the only person who has had problems with this feature. Despite adjusting the straps (love the adjustable straps), I've noticed the dress is very tight at the fullest part of my bust, but has a lot of fabric below it, which sits oddly and makes me breasts look saggy. Not a look I generally go for. This tightness at the front is despite it gaping at the top of the zip.

2. The buttons

After wearing the dress around to take photos once, I noticed the bottom button becoming loose, so I sewed it on more tightly. The second time I wore it, the top button popped off completely. Luckily I heard it hit the ground so I could save it, but in a dress of this price I'd expect better attention to detail.

The fact is, the Zooey's got a hold on me. I love the idea of it - the print, the silhouette - so much that I couldn't bear to be parted with it. But I'd love to see some improvements if PUG does further iterations of it.
