The Evelyn - Small or Medium?

Hello Ladies!

I have an Evelyn in a small and it just barely fits... It is super snug around my rib cage, but then my chest just barely fills in the top. I am considering buying another one (because even though it is a little tight it is still my absolute FAVORITE dress), but I am not sure of I should stick with a small or go up to a medium. Does anyone have any experience comparing the two sizes? If the medium is quite a bit larger (especially in the chest area) then I know it won't fit.

I measure 33" at the bust and 28" at the waist.

I think you actually need the smaller size, unfortunately the bust is going to be even bigger on the size up. Usually Medium is about two inches bigger everywhere than small although your measurements sound like you might be more comfortable in a medium on the rib cage but the bust on the M is usually a LOT bigger - my experience with PUG is that going up a size adds 2-3 inches to the bust. You could wear it with a super push up bra but other than that I think you're better off in the S 

Alternately you could find a local tailor (it usually costs $20-30 to alter a dress) and have him or her take the bust in a little for you - if you're good with a sewing machine it's not actually that hard to make alterations but I would practice on a few t-shirts first

Thank you! That is good advice. At first I thought I would try to loose a few inches but  then I realized that it wouldn't help my rib cage any haha. I'm not the best seamstress, but a tailor is a good idea. Thanks Shy Anne! :)
