I'm having some difficulty as of late finding a good mascara. I have used Bare minerals, MaryKay, and Sephora brand, and a couple of others, but I can never get the results I'm looking for. I tend to do a lot of cat eye type makeup, and I can never get my lashes to "pop" the way I want them to. I guess what I'm trying to get is come volume in them, and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions as to a preferred brand?

I have tried a million mascaras. My friend recently introduced me to a new one from Mary Kay and I won't ever use another one. I start with the Lash Love primer.(clear not white!) and then several coats of the Lash Love Waterproof mascara (holds up to my awful allergies and wicked Texas heat, no raccoon eyes, no flaking, no smudging). If they ever discontinue it I will cry. I also use a metal lash comb from Sonia Kashuk to separate, perfect falsie look for daily makeup.
ETA: Here is a pic of my lashes with this combo. (ignore the awful brows, it was taken before Micheline's amazing tutorial!)
I use two mascaras - I love CoverGirl Lash Perfection for volume and L'Oreal Telescopic for lengthening - Lisa Freemont Street loves it too.
Im blonde and my eyelashes are light in colour and thin.. Urghhh Ive tried alot of different products.with no real results. I used to have lash extensions which worked and I loved but it is to expensive to maintain. Ive reverted back to drug store false lashes... I only use the flares, gives a more cat like/Marylin look. But I am going to try the Mary Kay products mentioned here...
I don't do a lot of mascara any more. I am a huge advocate of false lashes.
But if I had to recommend, I use Maybelline's Falsies and Volume express...a couple coats of each and you'll be golden.
If you want eyelashes that pop though, I highly recommend false lashes!
In my experience the best mascaras to amp up the volume and give you that false lash effect are DiorShow by Dior or any fibre lash mascara, such as Modelco Fibre Lash or Cherry Blooms here in Australia. I too am always on the lookout for a fabulous mascara that really extends and creates volume. I have also heard great reviews on Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara.
I really like Maybelline Define A Lash Volume Mascara. It gives me really dolly looking lashes and they seem fuller. But if mascaras arent working for you use falsies.
it's pretty pricey, but i recently tried Chanel Inimitable Intense & it is AMAZING. i got a sample of it and when the sample runs out, i'm going to buy it. my lashes are kind of blah, not too sparse, but not even remotely nice without a good mascara. the brush is made in a way that helps the mascara go on each lash and not clumpy at all. they look long and really stand out a lot. before that, i had been using MAC zoom lash(?), which also works pretty well.

So the first picture is natural brows. The second is with the left brow done. What I'm asking you ladies is some critic on it as I've never actually done my brows before I don't want to look silly. Continue
