My favorite is MAC  in MAC Red http://www.maccosmetics.com.au/products/spp/shaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID...  I think it's a perfect blue-red. 

Revlon Cherries in the Snow is too pink/magenta for me.... but it does look great on you!

Awesome! :) I was a little hesitant myself at first too, but since last summer I have been wearing red lipstick almost every day. I wear MAC's Russian Red, and absolutely love it. It's a bluish red.

I have three reds that I like to wear, MAC Russian Red, Revlon Certainly Red, and Rimmel Rouge (for some reason I can only find it on Amazon... Red Alert seems like it's really close though).

To be fair, my mother also uses MAC as her standby for red lipstick. I find natural products work best for me.

I prefer a sheer color so I use tinted lip moisturizers to "enhance, rather than cover up", lol. Tarte has a great selection and the color lasts nicely for everyday wear at school. When I need a true lipstick I reach for Dr. Hauschka’s red lip liners and creamy lipstick.

I have also shied away from red lippies in the past, but my boyfriend LOVES a red lip, so I'm trying to incorporate them into my beauty routine. ;)

I bought Revlon Colorstay Lip Butters in Cherry Tart and Candy Apple. Candy Apple is a REALLY popular red, and seems to get tons of love on beauty blogs. However, Cherry Tart actually looks better on me! It's blue-based so you may love it, too. If the color is too bold, you can always blot it down.

If you're feeling really adventurous, try Makeup Forever #43 Moulin Rouge. It's a quite universally-flattering, retro red! The finish is kinda satiny.

Icon Red Liquid Lipstick by Hourglass is my current fave. Its heavy and amazing!

For something more sheer try Besame Red by Besame cosmetics.

Wow I'm so late to this!! I recommend Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery. Both are liquid-to-matte, and have incredible color payoff and staying power!!

I use the covergirl lip stains and think they're okay. the color is great for the first few hours, then it tends to get flaky :p boo. But normally I use a small brush to put apply it. it gets way too thick and messy if I use the applicator it comes it. 

Before i switched to lipstains I loveeeed Russian Red by MAC
