Inspiration #1; Perks of being a walflower.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a novel written by Stephan Chobosky, This book (turned into film in 2012) is about a mentally unstable teenager named 'Charlie'. He describes various life experiences through a series of letters to an anonymous stranger. Set in the early 1990s, the story follows Charlie through his freshman year of high school in a Pittsburgh suburb.
