Trying to find time to go to any event is difficult, but if it benefits me in the long-run I'd rather do this now than later.

I love being a mother, I love working at this current job because I love the money that helps me to make sure my daughter has things.
But of course I want to pursue my real dream of modelling. It has been so strenuous trying to find the time and places or even take the steps to help at least take the first step in the right direction.
So my question to everyone is... how do I even begin? Where do I even go? Is there any websites that aren't scams that I can start to apply on? I feel like if I at least make an attempt at doing something like this, maybe I will finally have some piece of mind. I want to get some experience in this thing so first off:

1. I need a portfolio

2. Find an agency

Now my mommy nerves are kicking in. I'm feeling a little hesitant. I don't know much and feel incompetent. HELP!

Have you ever done a photoshoot before?  It might be wise to see if you enjoy the whole experience first, before you try to get work doing it - I recently had a couple of photoshoots for different reasons & loved both of them, but I know it won't be for everyone!  For now, I have enough projects of my own and am still building a portfolio, when I've got a little bit more experience I'll start looking for an agent/agency - which I guess will be like every other "real life" thing - I won't be expecting to have to pay for anything, or do anything I'm uncomfortable with etc etc,

I finally did a solo photoshoot recently, and it was fun! I had two previous ones I did with a burlesque troupe I was in a year back. I think I need more time like you said. It's hard to feel comfortable when you're not sure how you're going to look on the other end, but it's something I do want to start preparing for. I want to do something like this because after I saw the pictures it really made me feel great and concepts started to run through my head so hopefully more shoots will happen in the near future. Thank you for the heads up.
