My Fall PUG Order Review - Joanie Tops, Laura Top, Fables Sophie Top, Niagara Dress and Birdie Party Dress

Hey everyone! I finally had a day off today so my hubby and I spent a little bit taking to catalogue everything that came in the mail last week with what I'm going to call the first part of my PUG order for the fall. I'm calling it the first part because I can't promise I won't order more before winter.

Here we go!

The Niagara Dress in White Bengaline

I'm going to start off this review with the Dixiefied Niagara Dress in white bengaline because I promised Dita Makeup that I would since she's really thinking about getting one for next spring and wanted to know my first impressions.

I love this dress. For starters is quite form fitting, I think that Marilyn Monroe's quote about your clothes being "Tight enough to show you're a woman, but loose enough to show you're a lady" fits this prefectly. There's enough loose room that I feel comfortable sitting down and eating dinner in this. The off the shoulder sleeves mean that a strapless bra's the best way to go, and it is form fitting enough that if you don't use shapewear then thongs are definitely in order.

It's comfortable enough to wear outside in the spring and summer though a shrug might be handy to have for the fall. All and all I'm planning on making this my New Years Eve dress this year and I'm positive that I'll be wearing it a lot next year! :)

The Laura Top in White and Black

The next item up is the Laura Top in white by Pinup Couture. This style of top is just perfect for when you really want to look like a classy pinup girl but want the practicality of a normal shirt. It's very comfortable to wear, flatters my bust and my waist very nicely and the best part is that you really can wear this throughout the year. The mix and match possibilites go on forever, you can wear these with jean shorts in the summertime, high waisted formal dress pants in the fall, and they look really cute when you pair them with a flattering pencil skirt.

So in short, you really can't go wrong with the Laura Top.

The Joanie Top in Red and Grey Knit

The second I saw this top I knew that it would be perfect for a family Christmas get together, especially with the Retro Pencil Skirt, and now that I've tried it on I know that it won't disappoint. The Joanie Top in grey and red knit is very form fitting but very thick, so it is great for the fall and winter. It's definitely a bust highlighting top and the neck keeps it looking very sophisticated. The zipper in the back might take a little getting used to, but it actually makes it a lot easier to pull on and off, especially when pulling it over your bustline. Since I lost a lot of weight recently, especially in my bust I thought I'd chance it and opt for a small size, since I was between a small and a medium, and it turns out that there's enough stretch in the material to fit a 29" waist.

It's business friendly enough to wear to the office and flattering enough to wear out to coffee with friends, so all and all this is going to get a lot of wear time in the months ahead. Now I might have to get it in black and navy too :)

The Birdie Dress in Black

My husband actually found this dress when he was browsing for PUG outfits he thought would look great on me, and I couldn't be happier that he found it. When I put the Birdie Party Dress on I really feel like Betty Draper (in look and style, NOT in personality:) ). With the medium it comes in so very nicely in the waist and shows off just enough cleavage to be flattering without overexposing. The black belt that it comes with is just right for accentuation the waistline and the open hip design is perfect for any woman's shape.

I already know which friends Christmas party I'm going to be wearing this to, and hopefully a lot of other party's afterwards. That's the only problem with having so many amazing PUG dresses, it gets hard finding occasions to wear them all too :)

The Fables Sophie Top in Red, White and Blue

Now some People might be surprised that I've waited until the end of the summer to buy a new bikini, especially since I don't have any trips planned for the near future. The short story is that for the last 3 years I've been taking the polar bear plunge on New Years Day down at a local beach, and the second that I saw the Fables two-piece with the Sophie Top and Amelia Bottom, I knew I found the bikini for this years plunge.

This top does everything it's supposed to, it flatters your bust and couldn't be any more secure. I ordered the large, which is meant for a 36D, and after adding a couple of padded inserts from an old bra of mine (it comes with pockets for bust padding) it fit like a glove! :)

Now since I was having some trouble figuring out which size to get for the bottoms, and after hearing a few stories of how Fables size chart tended to size their bottoms bigger than most women were used to, I decided to just pair it with Pinup Couture's Vintage High Waisted Pinup Short, which by the way are THE greatest bikini bottoms that you will ever buy, but I'll leave that for another review.

I defintely can't wait to take the polar bear plunge in the Sophie Top, and a lot more warm weather dips there after when summer comes again :)

In Conclusion

So all and all, everything from the Joanie, Laura and Fables Sophie Top to the Niagara and Birdie Party Dress are exactly what I was looking for and are all going to find a welcome spot in my wardrobe for years to come. I had an awesome time taking the pictures today, and the best part is that even though Labour Day was Monday, the water at the beach was still gorgeous, and what kind of pinup girl would I be if I didn't take the chance for a quick dip?

Only 10 dresses, 12 shirts and tops, 3 shorts and pants and 3 skirts more to review. I'll be back soon! Take care! :)
