PUG and Respect from Others
Since I have started dressing in the PUG/Vintage style again I have noticed something: People treat me with more respect. Now, I do not mean to indicate that people were disrespecting me before. It's more that now people do little things that they didn't do before, like holding open the doors, bowing (weird at first, but I'm get used to it), and using honorifics (ma'am, Ms., etc).
I have also noticed that the compliments that I get are different. Rather than some cheesy lines like "hey ma" or "let me holla at you for a minute", guys now say "You look gorgeous" or "dignified". One guy even said he wished his daughter dressed more like me. To me, this is evidence that I am putting out the image that I want to.
How does everyone else feel? Opinions?

I agree!! It's really weird but kind of nice when people go out of their way to hold a door open for you, etc. =] Seems like we're on the right track ; )

That's right ! I agree, dressing like a lady and people treat you like a lady :)
But, in France you also have "weird" comments... like "hey, do you live or dress always like that ?"

Absolutely! Even in the more curve hugging, cleavalicious items I recieve much more respect than I used to. Sure some people judge because they think I'm "overdressed" and for some reason they link that with something negative, as if I must be doing it for someone else and not for myself which is absolutely NOT true. But on the whole, the majority of people seem to find it endearing. And I think it's only since I've discovered PUG that people have actually stopped me in the streets to compliment me! I've never had that before!
