I haven't posted a blog in awhile. Now that summer is half over (at least here in Minnesota) I thought I would share my summer of PUG outfits!
I started out spring with my Laura Byrnes high waisted trousers. I wore these to see The Reckless Ones (a local rockabilly band) perform.
I've been getting alot of use out of my vamp tops! I love them. They are so versatile. My ONLY complaint is they tend to act as velcro for fuzz, etc. And my black vamp really shows white marks if I put it on before my sunscreen is dry. :( #pinupproblems Anyhoo, here I am sporting a few vamp tops with a sequin circle skirt, my tiki Jenny and harlequin Jenny. PUG needs to make these tops in EVERY shade.
Speaking of the harlequin Jenny - I was wearing this skirt at the Back to the 50's Car Show in Minneapolis and my photographer friend Julie took a photo. She entered that photo in a contest and it was chosen to hang in an art gallery in Seattle - so this little bit of PUG will be hanging for everyone to see. How cool!
Along came the 4th of July and what better dress to wear than the Royal Blue Heidi. It would have been perfect with a red crinoline under but it was a bit too warm for that. Hubby coordinated with a vintage Hawaiian shirt in red/white/blue. Our family gets a kick out of our "vintage" style.... or "50's style" as they call it. "You guys must really like the 50's eh?" Trust me, it isn't worth explaining to them lol.
July also gave me the opportunity to wear the Harley in peach. This dress also looks darling with a crinoline but again the day I wore this dress out to dinner it was 100 degrees with super high humidity (hence the reason my hair is pinned up!).
As you can see I've been loving PUG's spring/summer line. I just got the Jenny Paris print skirt but haven't worn it yet - it's in the alterations pile (I always need the skirts shortened). But I'm looking forward to wearing it before summer is over. And I can't wait for PUG's fall/winter line - it looks like some amazing things are brewing!
What has been your favorite spring/summer PUG look this year?
You look fabulous! I totally agree about the vamp line. I love 'em!
Looking fabulous Amber! Aoife & I were slaves to the heat too, which is why we went to a late dinner... the heat and humidity have been vicious this year, and I have also been pinning my hair up almost (no, actually all the time) daily - beyond the sticking to the nape, the up helps keep the frizz to a minimum. The photo for the gallery looks fantastic and I think it would be awesome in b/w or the antiqued coloring, congrats to your friend! And I agree with you, it's just easier to not bother explaining it, but instead, just smiling and nodding that yea, I'm really in to the 50s (for me, more like the 40s, but that would require more explanation as well).
