This is a post from my personal blog, Junebugs and Georgia Peaches but since PUG inspired me to pursue this, I thought it might have a home here.
As a child of the 90s and a lover of all cheesy teen movies, I'm one of those people that could watch the movie Clueless or listen to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones on the soundtrack over + over again. The movie is made better by the fact that it's based on Jane Austen's novel Emma.. and who doesn't love a little bit of Jane Austen? Also, who doesn't relate to Cher's feelings in the beginning of the movie when she was trying to get ready and looked like the photo below... seriously... this is me every morning.

Part of the magnetic appeal of the movie, of course, is the fashion, whether you're admiring it or just staring at it thinking "WHAT IS THAT?!" it apparently warrants a revival, because it seems to be popping up a-l-o-t this year, for example, Pinup Girl Clothing's Totally Clueless Lookbook. While I never envied any of leading lady, Cher Horowitz's wardrobe pieces directly (although I did, in fact, own a pink feather pen)... I had an INCREDIBLY deep-seeded desire to be able to do this:

Well guess what ladies: it's 2014 and I'm here to tell you that you FINALLY CAN and holy shit, every part of my neurotic perfectionism is overjoyed. Meet the Dressed app. Let me start by saying that I have no idea who these people are, we have no affiliation with the app, the makers of the app and we don't even know anyone else that USES the app. I hunted it down in the App store when trying to find ways to organize my closet. Also, in the approximate 6 years I've owned an iPhone.. I've bought MAYBE 6 apps, so I saw that this one was $3.99 and I was NOT about to buy it. But I did, and I'm glad.
My husband and I were discussing a system for me to start cleaning out my closet. So, I started the process by inputting my dresses thinking "yeah... ok... this is KIND of cool" but when everything is shoved close together in your closet and all the sudden, you have a way to seem everything perfectly laid out, the "cool" gets upgraded to "pretty awesome".
Once you've spent the time to input your wardrobe (or even some of your wardrobe) you can take a creepy little illustrated lady that sort of looks like the mannequins from the first episode of the new gen. Doctor Who and dress her using your various pieces to give a rough indication of what an outfit might look like.
Overall, I've had a really good time playing around with this app and knew I had to share it with y'all. If you download it, let me know, I'd be curious to see how others like it!
*** I just noticed the app is on sale for $1.99! Go get it ladies!
