So a long time ago, I was wanting the Bettie Page bangs but was scared to cause some girls I saw just could NOT pull that look off, and now I'm seeing a good bit of women who really can and the more I see, the more convinced I am that I want them! I was always told that I look like a boy with short bangs [just bluntly cut]
sooooo yay or nay?

I cut my Bettie Page-style bangs years ago, and I can't seem to give them up (although they do need frequent trimming--I go every 2-3 weeks). Even though I remember some people being a little wary when I first said I was going to cut them, once I did I started getting tons of compliments, and now I can barely remember what I looked like without them! =)
That being said, make sure to get someone who knows how to cut retro-style bangs to do it for you----a lot of stylists are reluctant to cut bangs that short and precise, as the current "in" mainstream look is for longer, wispy bangs that are the exact opposite---longer on the sides and assymetrical. I recommend bringing in a photo or 3 and being VERY CLEAR about what you want!
One more thing: Short, "pinup-style" bangs can have a lot of different subtle shapes, and it's important to find the one that fits your style, face shape (and confidence) best. For instance, you can have those that pretty much go straight across the forehead...or you can have them dip on a subtle curve so they are slightly longer, but rounded, through the middle of the forehead and shortest on the sides (think how Masuimi Max wears hers in a lot of the PUG modeling photos)...or you can go more goth/vampire and have them come to almost a point in the middle of your forehead, going at a more extreme angle up into your hairline. Any of these can look good depending on your style.
Hope this was helpful, and good luck!
i'm just worried about if it will suit my face shape =\ i posted pics
I'm a big fan of changing hair up, great thing is, it grows pretty quick so you can change it if you dont like it. Also maybe go for a slightly softer version and see how you feel rather than such blunt cut. You need a hairdresser that understands what you are trying to achieve. I think you could pull them off! When I had blunt fringe (long one not short) I did need it cutting every few weeks otherwise it would loose its shape. Make sure you are committed and have the time for regular maintenance. Make sure you have photos of what you exactly want!
I am going back and forth with cutting my bangs.. I really love having them, but then when I do I regret cutting them because I sometimes like to style my hair without bangs.
I suggest trying clip on bangs, that way you can see how they look on you without the commitment.
xoxo, Masuimi
I have had them for the last 8 years and certain days I'm like damn i want side bangs or anything other than blunt bangs.
It is a commitment for sure.
If your hair is thick and full you can [pull it off.
I find thin hair and blunt bangs just split and separate and look wonky.
Buy some clip-ins!
