Hey everyone! It's me Tahitia and I wanted to talk to you all about... drum roll please... VIVA LAS VEGAS!! :) As I've mentioned before, after a long year of saving up and sacrifice my hubby and I are going to be able to make it down to our very first Viva this year, and we really want to make the most out of it!
First, I was wondering exactly who here on Pinup Style thinks that they're going to be able to make it down this year?
Second, assuming that we're able to meet up of course, we'll have all the Viva events themselves to take up most of our time, but I was wondering if from the experience of people who've been there if people usually in groups or just couples end up heading to strip to see the big casino's for a few hours, go catch a show or just take a walk to be seen in our awesome PUG? Or will there literally be so many awesome things to do that we never leave Viva itself?
Third and last, I wanted to mention the idea of organizing some sort of big group photoshoot, even if it's only for one or two pictures. I saw on Viola Von Kitten's Traveling thread someone had mentioned that photographers set up specials for shoots, and I can't think of any better keepsake for the trip than to have a picture taken of all the ladies who could make it out.
So if you're interested let me know if you want to meet up come Viva and have some PUG fun while we're there together ;)

That sounds like a cute combo Alyssa! I was thinking of either a pencil skirt with a vintage tube top or maybe a pinup bathing suit, depending on if anyone else is wearing one :)
I didn't see that post about the 2pm meet up at the PUG stand no, but thank you for mentioning it! I'll try to get there early since I imagine there will be a big crowd.
Hi, this is Cynthia. New member of Pinup Style and I am invited to go... But, I don't if I should go because my son's Spring Break is around on the 30th of March.
I'm with Natalie, I just assumed it would be super hot outside too. That definitely might put the chill on my plans to don a pinup swimsuit for the car show.
I'll have to keep an eye on the forecast :)
last year I wore a dress and I was still warm and got a nasty sunburn so if you wear something like a romper or swimsuit make sure you have a parasol and sunblock when walking around the car show.
Check on the parasol and will do for the sunscreen! I always appreciate the advice of someone's who's been there :)
I think that I am leaning towards the swimsuit option so I'll definitely be bringing at least a full bottle with me just for the day. Maybe two just to be safe.
no problem!! It's a lot of fun and while we don't do everything we had such a blast. I would say Burlesque Bingo was great and you should try to go at least once and the event usually has souvenir cups at all the bars at the Orleans. Another place I would recommend that you go to that's off strip, but worth it is Frankie's Tiki Room. No food, but the drinks are amazing, they have great Tiki Farm mugs and the staff is really nice. It's usually never crowded, but last year Bachelor Pad magazine had their party there Wednesday and it was packed.
I'm definitely going to write that down on the itinerary Kimberly! Even if we don't catch a magazine staff party like you did I'm sure it would be an awesome place to visit :)
Speaking of tiki, there's also Polynesian dance studio in the city that I'm going to try to visit too, I'm a huge Tahitian dancing fan and I think that it would be so awesome to get to see a troupe in another city.
My Fiancé and I will be going. This is our second time going. We go to vegas often and have seen most of the things we wanted to see, but it's worth heading down the strip and checking things out if you've never been to Vegas before. I think it all depends on what you want to do. We stayed at Harrah's last year because we couldn't get a close hotel and found there was huge gaps in time between things we wanted to do or see. Granted we didn't see many of the performers in the different rooms, go to the pool. I will say if you find that you don't want to do everything you will have plenty of time to venture out and around Vegas. I would recommend seeing a bit of Vegas and not just stay at Viva.
You're absolutely right Kimberly! It would be a waste NOT to hit the strip at least once on my first time there.
We'll have to try to organize a big group of all us together to go to a few casino's or even just take a walk outside in our best PUG if we can :)
I always need a second vacation to recover form vegas.
You guys are making me want to go so bad. Can't wait 'til next year when I plan on being there hell or high water!
