I need HELP!
I have a Pink/black jessica dress that i plan to wear in July. the only shapewear I own is Spanx. Someone on the fb page recommended Rago. Does that suck you in better than Spanx? What kind of shapewear would you recommend for this dress without a whole bunch of lines showing?
Also- I'm a size 20, 40/42 F/G depending. I NEED a bra with straps and all my bra's come up way too high. I just spent about $200 on bra's that aren't going to work with that dress. What do you suggest?????
I'm so mad right now. I just spent ALOT of money on undergarments that won't work with any of these dresses. and now i'm getting super pissed that i'm fuggin fat and can't go down to the walmart and buy a $10 push up and be on my merry little way. UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

lol, thanks. i'm good. cried for 2 minutes and then laughed at myself for 5 at my crazy rant. I think i'm just overy emotional because i'm about to have my monthly. I'm going to check out this rago. BUT I SWEAR TO JESUSCRISTO if these rago's don't work out - i'm coming to find you :P j/k.
Spanx are AWFUL!! They don't suck you in and they do a crappy job of smoothing. I highly recommend going with Rago shaper. I love mine. You can order thru this website. http://www.americanshapewear.com Where did you get your bras? I hope not thru Victoria Secret. Rago usually goes up to like a 7X or 8X. So you should be more than fine.
I totally understand the frustration. It's hard to find clothing that works when you are a larger size. But don't fret too much. You got this! :) Take a look a the Rago and banish all the Spanx to the trash. You'll look awesome!
aarrggh! the site is blocked at work :( will have to check out when i get home. are they cheaper on this website? I found a couple on ebay so far. I'd like to go with a shorts type so i can prevent chaffing. I bought about 6 Lane Bryant balconies, a bra ( can't remember the name, it's at home but that sucker was $70- chantelle maybe). and I bought one online from china for $15 because now i'm totally broke.
Lane Bryant is just as bad at bra as V.S. You need to get some good nice bras. For some reason, bra makers here in the US think that all women want molded foam bras. They SUCK! They don't really work with women's breast tissue or how boobs work in general. The European style is way to go! I noticed you live in St. Paul. (I'm originally from just south of Milwaukee. And have hung out in the Twin Cities area alot when I was younger.) But just doing a quick search, you should go to http://www.labratique.com in Edina. You may only come out with a couple of bras and having spent $$$. But it well worth it. I go to a place here in LA called Jennette bras(Jennette is a an actress who never got the right bra size. She was the mom in T2 and she was in Aliens.) And oh let me tell you, once I got good quality bras, I looked so much better!! I promise, once you get the right bra, you will feel like a million bucks!!! :)
Let me third the awesomeness of Rago! Just be sure to order based on measurements not on "size" (i.e. 2x, 3x). I was lazy and made that mistake. A 7x in some of Rago might fit a PUG 4x for example. The extra firm high waisted open bottom girdle is one of the best investment pieces I own!
Also, a good slip will help with smooth lines. It's amazing how much a little slip can make a difference! I'll wear a longer half slip underbust for dresses that might not work with a full slip because of the shape or style of the bodice.
Rock that Jessica dress!
Glad you are sounding better!
One more vote for the Rago extra firm open bottom! I LOVE this thing- it comes all the way up to the bra for a smooth link from the bra to just the bottom of my bottom. It's also got a side zipper reinforced by hooks and is easy to slip on. I'm comfortable for about 12 hours in it.
Also, forget Lame Giant and go to brastop.com. They are AMAZING for larger bra sizes and brilliantly low priced. ($20USD! For a 38GG bra!) Have you measured yourself lately to ensure proper bra fit? (Just in case that's contributing to bras being too high- I've always found balconettes to be perfect for low-cut, so I'm surprised that they're not working for you. That style was going to be my suggestion for the bra issue.)
