It seems like forever since we last had a meet up of us Los Angeles Ladies. And so I think that it is time to rectify that. I have chosen the 13th of July because it gives us a chance to plan and to put it into our calendars. I think that a Saturday usually works best for most people. We could either do an afternoon meet up or we could do a night time thing. Or we could do one that starts in the afternoon and goes til the night!
Here are some ideas that I have. We could just meet up at the PUG Boutique, do a group shopping thing and then go someplace nearby for food and drink. As evidenced by my previous posts, I love to go to afternoon tea. So we could get all dressed up in our vintage finery and have a ladies tea.
For an evening event we could go to dinner and then maybe go to a burlesque show. I am really open to all suggestions.
Of course I realize that this date may not work for all of you. I also realize that there may be a variety of opinions about what to do. Let us see if anyone is interested and if there are any specific suggestions about what to do. I will give this a week or so. If we decide on something for which reservations are needed I want to be able to do that within the next couple of weeks.
I hope that there is some interest in doing a meet up. I would love to be able to get together again with some of my sister PUGsters.

I'd be soooo happy to celebrate my birthday with PUGs, however, my husband's stepson chose the same fantastic date for his wedding in Monterey. We will naturally attend the wedding and post-ceremony, I'm expecting my birthday celebration to be honored by my hubby.
If a date change happens (hopefully not the weekend after as I have a belly dance show in LA called Bands and Bellies) or another date in August comes up, I'll be so happy to meet you all!
I wish I could make it. It's the weekend right before San Diego Comic Con and I will be doing last minute prep for that. Hope everyone has a great time!
Sounds lovely. I have been looking for some PUG friends. I'm a little shy so hopefully this will help me break out of my shell.
I am so glad that we have both some veteran PUG Meet Up-ers and some new dolls joining us so far. I am including anyone who I've actually met through the PUG Style group as a veteran. So, so far that includes Chacha, Natalie, & Auburn Hills. So welcome along Marooski and Karen. And we hope that even more PUGalicious ladies join us. And don't worry, if our social calendars were full of pin up related events we would probably not be here. We need each other. And you know what? Seeing our beautiful sisters is a motivating factor for us to feel stronger and more beautiful and to have more fun.
I am sorry that Nilay and Emily can't join us this time. But we just have to keep on having these get-togethers. I am already thinking about doing something in August.
Since I first posted this topic I have been doing some thinking. It seems only right that we should meet up first at the PUG Boutique. That means shopping will be included in the activities! And I was thinking that maybe we could meet up late afternoon. Then we could all go out for a bit of food and drink? And maybe we could even find an evening event that we could all attend. I am totally open to suggestions. I just want to make something happen. I only have one qualification, whatever we do... IT HAS GOT TO BE FUN!
I'm in.
Oooh, both ideas sound great to me.
Looking forward to meeting and socializing with you PUG dolls.
That idea sounds perfect Ms Auburn Hills! It is just a couple of miles from the Boutique. From doing a bit of a search it seems that we can get a discount if we can get a group of 10 to go. I don't think that anything else will be as convenient. And it sounds fun. I have never gone to a burlesque show but it is on my TO DO list.
Rhonda, I am so glad that you will also be joining us!
I would love to join but will be out of town that weekend. Bummed I will be missing out on this one :(
OK, it has been a couple of weeks since there was any activity on this event. So maybe it will just be those of us whom have replied so far. I think that it would be fun to have more people join us. But no matter what, those of us who go WILL have lots of fun.
As shown in the events section post, I have decided that we will start the Meet Up somewhere between 4 to 6 at the PUG Boutique. That will give us a chance to do some shopping if we'd like. And we can take pictures of us trying on some of those wonderful PUG outfits.
I was figuring that next we could go out for a long leisurely dinner somewhere in the vicinity of the boutique. Since I don't live in the Burbank area, I don't have any recommendations myself. But if any of you do, please post here.
Auburn Hills found a burlesque event happening that night. But it seems to have vanished from both the burlesques troop's site and from the club's site. I wonder if it is still happening.
Ladies, any good suggestions for this evening? Restaurants? Clubs? Other stores to shop at?
So this entry is directed to all of you who said you would be attending the Meet Up. I hope that all of you will still be participating. The attendees at this point are
1. Chacha Billy
2. Natalie
3. Auburn Hills
4. Karen Aparicio
5. Rhonda Tinch-Mize
6. Me (Aoife 24K)
And Marooski sounds like a maybe
But of course anyone who is interested is very welcome to attend. I just want to have an idea of how many of us will be attending. So please comment if you think you will come.
The one definite is that we will meet at the PUG Boutique between 4 til 6. That will give plenty of shopping and socializing time. Then we have some choices. We can stay in the greater Burbank area for dinner and then go to the Skinny's Lounge in North Hollywood for the Victory Variety Hour burlesque show. A few days ago I could not find this event listed but it is back up so it appears to be on! The second choice is to go to Downtown LA. I know of a relatively new French cafe on Broadway called Noces du Figaro. They have happy hour prices on both food and drinks til 7 PM, so it is a relatively inexpensive way to eat and drink. Then we could all go to the Edison Club where the Eddies Burlesque troupe performs.
I must thank Auburn Hills for suggesting both Skinny's and The Edison. So I put this up to a vote. Whichever option gets the most votes wins. And I guess that since I am organizing this, if there is no evident winner, I will decide. I am going to be out of town for a few days and will have only sporadic web access. So I wanted to put this out now. I promise that I will finalize everything on Tuesday, July the 9th. That way I can make reservations for dinner and entertainment.
Thanks for putting up with my regular posts on this. I just want to make sure that it happens. And I want to make sure we have a great time.
Many thanks!
