Hey everyone!

I need advice/help for my hands. My fingers become calloused around the tips, especially on my right hand (dominant hand) and especially after working with money and unloading freight at work. I've tried vitamin e oil (straight vit e, nothing else), baby oil, various cuticle oils, but nothing seems to really slow it down or get rid of it. My manicurist suggested vaseline on my hands and feet (they are calloused too, but shoes do wonders hiding them), but it is not feasible for me to re-lotion my hands after every customer or box, lol. Or even after hand sanitizer, which I know does not help. I tried the sample of Essie's apricot cuticle oil, which I loved, but since it was a sample, I couldn't use it long term to see if it helped, and I just found it at CVS for $10, which is a lot for me to spend not knowing if it's going to work or be beneficial. Every week at a minimum (especially the ones I don't get a mani on), I have to go through and clip off all the calloused parts, file them with a file to make them smooth, and then it starts alll over again. It's very frustrating; ever since I waited tables in college, I am extremely OCD about how my hands look because I didn't want to serve someone with crappy looking hands (and that still rings true in retail). So any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for your help!!

I am a massive fan of Lush, and when my hands get really bad (which, thankfully isn't often now) I use their Fair Trade Foot Lotion; for everyday I use Handy Gurungu or sometimes Ultrabalm :)

I'm  not sure how readily available it is internationally but Pumice is a great natural exfoliate.

I second Jessica's point about wearing gloves to bed.  I have very dry hands, they will crack and bleed and then they look 80 years old.  I also have a lot of calluses (and then tears) on the palms of my hands from weight lifting. I use the Hemp hand protector from the Body Shop.  http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/shop-by-line/hemp/hemp-hand-protecto... It is a little pricey, though it seems to be on sale right now for $10.  But it is totally worth it and will last a couple months.  I also use the Almond hand and nail butter http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/shop-by-line/almond/almond-hand-nail... which is less intense and doesn't have as strong of a smell :) If my hands are really bad, I will wear a very tightly knit pair of cotton gloves (I got mine at the body shop because they were in a hand care package I got a couple years ago, but they don't sell them any more I don't think)

Slather on the lotion before bed, put enough on that it doesn't rub in completely.  then put on the gloves and go to bed.  In the morning you will have super soft hands.  The gloves stop the lotion from rubbing off all over your sheets and will help it soak into your hands overnight.

Thank you all for these suggestions!! I will look into all of these... I have been using Garnier Fructis' Triple Nutrition Miracle Dry Oil for Hair, Body & Face. I originally bought it to try for my hair, but discovered it's AMAZING on my hands. When I finally went in for a manicure, she didn't have to remove as much callus or cuticle as normal, which is awesome. I'm trying to remember to also put it on my feet and wear socks to bed, but in this heat, socks are not working out so well. I don't have a pair of gloves and I am looking for some, but I think I'm just going to grab a pair of the ones in the beauty section in Walmart. Btw, not a fan of the miracle oil in the hair, but for hands & body, it's amazing! Moving on to try another oil... at least I have a back-up use for this one and it won't be wasted, lol!!

Thank you all so much, and more suggestions are always welcome!! Sometimes, solutions work for a while, but then they stop being as effective as before, so you have to occasionally switch it up!
