Hello Ladies!

I just have a very simple question. What do you wear and keep the PUG image when you are not feeling well?

A little background on me, I have a disorder with my colon and my stomach. This disorder constantly leaves me with belly aches, severe abdominal pains, bloat, and my stomach will distend out to the point that I look like I am at least 7 months pregnant which is very painful. I normally will just wear Capri/jeans depending on the weather and a tank with a cardigan when this happens, but at times even those  are very uncomfortable and I 'will usually end up in one of my hubbys baggy t-shirts and sweats or yoga pants. So it there a way to still stay in the PUG style and be comfortable?

Vickie, I am sorry to hear about your disorder. It must be very difficult to cope with. I am not going to make any specific suggestions. But I am going to say that being pin up is really something that starts from the inside. It is about feeling good about yourself and expressing it. I think that it is much more about loving yourself and being proud about who you are. To me that is what comes through loud and clear when I see my pin up sisters. And hopefully I am able to express that in my life. I am not sure if that answers your question. But it is my take on it. Take care!

You both have been a big help. I try to keep my head and chin up. And attitude is everything! Some days I'm perfectly fine and I rock that shit! ( sorry for the language) but other days I can barely function so maybe on those days ill just take it easy and on my good days I will be as fabulous as I can be!!! You both have given me the boost I think I honestly needed!!!!!

Hi! Thanks for sharing, Vickie. I have a few tips. I hope they provide a happy, comfy alternative to tees and sweats!

  • Try A-line skirts with stretchy waistbands and pencil skirts made from jersey or other comfortable fabric with "give".
  • Cardigans can usually be tied about the shoulders to maintain a vintage look. Also, they can be worn open or just the top button done.
  • If your tanks are not stretchy enough to be cozy, you may want to get one or two tops in a size that fits your health.

Look good and feel better, Vickie! @ ;-)

Bloating is no fun! Sorry about your troubles. I have similar stomach problems, and the other night made it worse by taking a few tums over the course of 24 hours. For a few days after I was so bloated that I looked pregnant. I ended up putting on a body shaper and wearing these light-weight high-waist black pleated shorts with lace along the bottom seam. For the top I wore a baggy striped shirt tucked in on one side, to try to hide the bloat. When it got cold later on in the evening, I wore a really baggy, long turquoise sweater.

Also, I drink a shot of apple cider vinegar in the morning and at night, which helps with digestion and decreases bloating. I normally mix an ounce of vinegar with 8 oz of water and a bit of honey. If you're willing, you should try it - of course, doctor permitted - although I do know that it is very good for your body and aids in stomach woes.

Hope that helps!

I may try the apple cider vinegar thing, I have never heard of it before and I am always willing to try anything to help me feel my best! Thank you for the advice!

I wear yoga pants like they are cigarette pants. :) Just get skinny ones, and throw on some chucks and a t shirt. Ponytail, bandeau, and you're good to go! :) That aside, I completely agree with what the wonderful women above me are saying. Rock on sisters :D

Everyone of your dolls advice and suggestions made me get off my rear and go to the fabric store. I got fabric to add to a shirt from the fifties, so that if I start to have tummy troubles it has slight give to it to be more comfortable, and I bought some cotton with a slight stretch and made a pencil skirt with it. Since my vehicle is down money has been tight so I can't splurge on PUG right this minute but all of you have given me great ideas on what to get!!!

On my off days I like to reach for some stretchy cotton capris, a graphic Tee and my low top converse.  To keep a pinch of pin up in the look I toss my hair up in a simple bandana, a little mascara and some chapstick and I'm all set and comfy :)
