It depends on how I feel, and also what exactly it is that's going on top of it (and, sadly, at the minute what my bank can purchase).  The only shapewear I have right now is two corselettes (one black, one peach), next on my list to purchase is underbust girdles, then regular girdles, and then bustiers/longline bras.

The corselettes are only any good with longer skirts, both because they're a bit longer and I'm quite short!  The underbust girdles *should* come up a bit higher on me, and I know the regular girdles do/can be made to.

What do you want from your shapewear?  As that should influence what you look at/purchase :)

Well it depends on what you want your underwear to do for you. In the UK there's a company called 'What Katie Did' that specialize in vintage reproduction underwear. I dont think it's crazy over-priced if you compare it to high-street lingerie stores. Their sales team are really nice if you drop them an email (I havent worn any of their stuff yet, still waiting for it to arrive in the post!!!)

Again it depends on what your looking for and what your trying to achive,

I love shapewear. I wear it every day so have tried everything from Nancy Ganz to MiracleSuit to Spanx to everything in between. Have now fallen in LOVE with Rago. Anything Rago but particularly the 1294 open bottom corsolette. As JessicaNextDoor said it depends what you want it to do for you. I am short (5'2") short waisted and curvy (size L to XL in most PUG styles) and Rago works for me. I would love to try the What Katie Did stuff as well...

What I want from it? I want to suck in the post c-section tummy... define the waist and smooth out the lumps between bust and hip. I feel naked without some form of shapewear now..

Thanks. I want to smooth everything from my waist down to my hips. The shapewear I have tried usually stops right before my lovely lady handles, and it bothers me.

So you should be looking for a longline girdle, or a corselette :)

this is what I have, it is from Spanx, it is pretty long, I have lower tummy fat, also a result from my kids and it smoothes everything, bad part, sometimes it slips down and I have that bulge under my bra line, but otherwise I love it
