does anyone use bb cream as a base? how does it work for you? do you moisturize, then apply, or is it a moisturizer as well? i've been hearing all about it, but don't know much about it...

let me know what ya'll think... thanks for your input!!!

That's what I've heard, the consensus seems to point towards the Korean brands being far superior.

I just ordered the Skin 79 hot pink off amazon for $15. It says it's "authenticated" (I guess there are knockoffs going around). I also went ahead and got a Dr.Jart one too. I am excited to try them.

I tried the Garnier.. didn't like it for me. Too greasy, the shade is a bit dark (even though it blends away ok). also the spf is really low.

Dr. Jart's BB cream is amazing, it provides a sheer coverage and lots of moisture.  For more coverage I use a concealer and a light dusting of mineral powder.  I like using it in place of a primer for a more dolled up look and alone when running errands, breakfast out or a beach day, I live at the beach so makeup tends to be more casual look for everyday.

I've seen a lot of different brands posted on here, but does anyone know which ones work with very light skin? I tried the Garnier BB cream in their lightest shade, and it was too dark for my almost porcelain skin. I ended up diluting it with another moisturizer to avoid the Snooki look (that's the LAST thing I want), but my concoction was too heavy and made my skin look greasy.

I agree with several of the other posts- the American versions don't compare to the S. Korean ones. I've tried several, both American and S.K., and I have to say the Skin 79 is great stuff. I use both the Hot Pink and the Gold. The Hot Pink tends to be slightly more moisturizing, the Gold slightly more matte. I generally use Olay Regenerist  serum under it, but I'm 40 something and my skin needs the extra help.

Not only do I love the coverage, but I am convinced that using the BB cream has improved my skin's condition- fewer fine lines and evened out tone.

I work at Sephora and recommend the Too Faced brand one more than any other. Honestly, though I love it the most on medium to darker skin tones. It has a glow effect and makes me envy my brown girls' skin haha

They're a really big trend right now and can be an amazing product when you find the right formula for your skin type. I personally prefer heavier, full coverage foundation but have used the Too Faced as a primer. From a sales point of view the Smashbox brand one has been sold out for months in the lighter colors.

5 primary jobs of ALL BB creams: oil control, hydration, soothe redness, smooth fine lines, prime

using a moisturizer underneath as you normally would is fine if it gets too oily you can drop it for warmer seasons!

I'm very intrigued by this, I've never tried BB cream.

So overall, what do you think would be the best for sensitive, fair skin, and won't break the bank? I'm seeing some very high prices when I put it through Google.

I also have very pale skin too.

I did a lot research and kept coming back to the Korean brands. Over there a porcelain complexion is highly desired and is the goal so the tints tend to be lighter. Some even have skin whitener in them like the Dr Jart one I ordered. These were the brands most recommended to me.

If you go on Amazon.com they have them all very reasonably priced.

Thanks ladies for all of the input!!! I bought the Garnier bb cream to start with... and was told by my make-up go-to gals at work to not stop my eb5 as they do two different things. I bought it two days ago, and since today was my day off and I didn't venture out in public, I've only worn it once. So I will let ya'll know how it goes - so far, no breakouts and I loved it when it set! If it doesn't work for me, then I have a ton of suggestions of where to go next!

Thanks again! <3 Jenn

I have tried several BB creams and I will tell you that my favorite is the Garnier BB cream. It evens out skin tone and I think it is great as my stand alone "foundation". I then use a powder over it, to help set it and I am not a fan of shine, so I like to have a matte finish with my skin. I do think it's great for day to day wear. I think you might need more coverage for nights out, big events, etc.

Hi gal well I use Estee Lauder bb cream which has great coverage so I dont really need anythign else for my day to day. If i am going out I do an extra primer, plus setting poweder. Its great because you dont need to do all those other things. ( that was th epoin tof them making the bb cream) If you are super dry or live in dry climate I would do a light moisturizer first then go forward with your makeup.

Hope this helped a little =)
