Heidi
I was so excited when I ripped open the mail bag and saw this vibrant, in your face blue! The material was heavy and sort of stiff and very slightly rough feeling straight out of the bag. Not sure if this would improve with a few washings. I looooove the print. But sadly, I don't think the Heidi dressform works for my body. My torso is pretty short, and the body of the Heidi is a little too long before it flares out into the skirt, so I almost get a muffintop effect over the skirt.
I tried this in an XL after the 2X Zooey debacle, and it fit mostly well, although I felt like I was about 1/4 of a size too big, mostly in terms of the above-mentioned waist area, and as regards the bust (my bra underwires seemed to be sticking out a little below where the cup shapes are supposed to be built into the dress, and on the opposite end, I didn't seem to be 'boosted' to fill up the top part of the bodice. Perhaps another bra would help fix this, but I didn't want to bother with it since I was displeased with other aspects as well.). If I went all the way up to a 2X, I don't think that would resolve the problems I had with it and might create others. Part of me wonders if this is simply meant for a taller, longer lady than me. Wah. I wanted to love this one, but it simply doesn't flatter my shape the way I've seen it showcase other lovely ladies. Back it must go :/

YAY, this was so much better than Zooey for me! I sized down to an XL with this since the 2X Zooey was so huge on me, so I started panicking when I first tried this one and it seemed unbelievably tight. Then I calmed down, broke out my fauxSpanx and a different bra (the first one I'd tried was my strapless, which has a thicker profile due to the extra elastic enforcements ), and had better luck. It's still a bit snugger than I would like (as mentioned with the Heidi, I'm maybe 1/4 size larger than would be ideal to fit this size), but it's a livable amount and I think the fabric will likely stretch some over time and with use - it had already seemed to ease up a little after I took it on and off 3 times to try different bras with it.
The print, as before, is cuteness to die for, and I love all the lace detailing on the bodice and hem of the skirt - which is pretty much a full circle, which kind of guarantees me to love it :) I wish there were a good way to tack down the lacing on the bodice though, since it seems to stick up willy-nilly in certain places. Not sure if ironing would help? Since halternecks usually hurt my neck, plus I need some kind of straps attached to the back half to keep it up when I'm dancing in it, I'll take this to a tailor soon to turn the halter into shoulder straps. I think I might have them tack it down in a crossback pattern, just to keep up the nice angling around the bust, and because I like crossbacks. Will see what the tailor recommends, though.
Edited to add: the pink appears as a much more vibrant tone when viewed under natural light. I think indoors casts a yellow tone that makes it appear peach, but it's actually a true, beautiful pink.
And check out the twirling action!

Hi Heidi,
The Ginger looks stunning on you, excellent choice.
I'm actually Sarah ;), but thank you so much!!
Oh my, I am so sorry Sarah. I knew your name was Sarah and I was thinking about your Heidi review while trying to say that I liked the Ginger on you......duh me!
Hi Sarah
I think you might be onto something with the bra, and may be petticoat idea with the Heidi. I have the Heidi and its georgous, but my measurements are 39, 28, 40 so its good to see it on other shaped women as well. Just for the record I think it looks pretty good on you, just not as good as the Ginger!
hhahah I think my left thigh might be a size 2! Im usually a med to a Large in PUG, Size 10 in Aus size 6-8 US. I think I might have been a size 2 when I was 14 or something I cant even imagine being any other size than what I am now. I love how pug makes me feel about my body. Yeah the Ginger is definitely your dress, you completely own it in this pic
Heehee, it was only for a very short period of time after dieting like a crazy person and running marathons. Yeah, that didn't last long ;) I'm around a 14-16 US these days. So glad that I don't get freezing cold in 80 degree weather and it doesn't hurt my butt bones to sit in hard chairs anymore. Anyway, thank you again! - the Ginger really makes me feel AWESOME and so very girly. I can't recommend it enough. (Husband still likes the Lily better though for some crazy reason. Not that I blame him, because duh, adorbz, but I think this one is more flattering on me)
Wow, Ginger really does look absolutely fantastic on you!!!! Seriously stellar. Now that I've read this, I can see what you meant about the Heidi hitting you wrong (I replied to your "Heidi vs. Luscious" thread) and I think the Luscious SHOULD work, but I can't make any promises. :-) Plus I can't imagine anything in the world cuter than you in that Ginger!
