I have a gorgeous faux fur black coat that I wear with pretty much everything. I just recently purchased a cute pair victorian style lace up ankle boots too which I wear with all my dresses and 100+ denier black stockings. I am wearing a pair of red skinny jeans today though but I have my fur coat so I still feel kinda stylish hehehe.

As for the pants, I've never tried a pair to be honest but I think they could flatter a lot of body types. It's always hard with pants though.

Ive got a gr8 warm jacket, I just wish they had opac( is that spelt right) lol,  tights, in a natural colour... then I could wear my dresses, sometimes under my pencil dresses I wear a pair of black leggins, & calf high boots.. lol... so then its up to the hair & make up to pull the rest off,     thanx 4 your input  :)

I used to love in Melbourne and now in Adelaide so I know what you mean by Freezing winters! What I do is LAYERING. Go and get yourself some merino thermals in black and white (talking bat long sleeved ts and long tights).
- I wear my Black Label high waisted pants with skin colored stockings underneath and pumps, I wear one of the black label knit tops and team with with the BL Jacket (@ $200, it's expensive but SO worth it), team this with a scarf and an overcoat (depending on how cold it is you might not need the overcoat)
-cigarette pants (deadly dames) are wonderful to wear under knee high boots, team with any Sean with long sleeved thermal underneath - repeat above step with jacket, overcoat etc
- Monique dress or first class dress with thermal long sleeved t and tights underneath with knee
high boots
- netti dress with long sleeved t underneath and stockings (thick ones, double up if required)
You get the idea, have fun layering ;)

Hey Denise, thanks for the fashion tips, will deffinatly take it on board, I love my ciarette pants.... will have to get some more before I wear them out, lol, will have to invest in the themals, gr8 idea, they should keep me warm, in our hot rod, which has no windows lol, but i do love it in summer that is, lol....

Ok am off 2 check out what I can come up with, once again thanks doll, :)

An old thread, I know, but its starting to get chilly again (although not today!!), so I thought I'd chime in with my new favourite cold remedy!

I am loving the look that solid colour pantyhose look underneath a patterned hose... be that fishnets or other... my current favourite look is red tights underneath a floral pattern, black pencil skirt and red top.

Not too matchy, but people certainly notice the unexpected flash of colour. :-)

Hi! I am a huge fan of layering. It's a MUST in Melbourne, as you well know! The following items are a must for me:

- Military style Coat

- Faux Fur Coat

- Gia Tops by Pinup Couture

- Knee High Boots in velvets and suedes

- Ankle boots in velvets and pinup batterns (leopard print anyone?)

- Wheels and Dollbaby cardigans

- Layer layer layer!

I wear swing dresses all through the year, when it is cold, i put long white socks and the petticoat keeps you warm. You need a good swing coat or trench that cinches with a black belt, so that it shows off the skirt.
